IIP Ahmedabad centre
Background:
·Indian Institute of Packaging has established its 5thRegional Centre at Ahmedabad in view of catering to the need of
exporters/shippers desirous of requiring UN certificate and need of other
packaging industries belonging to the state of Gujarat.
·In Sep., 2016, Gujarat Industrial Development
Corporation (GIDC) has allocated only 1st floor of its CFC building,
situated at Apparel Park Khokhra on a lease basis for 3 years as a make-shift
arrangement until a building/land is allocated for opening a centre at Gujarat.
·Later, in June, 2018 on a request, GIDC
allocated the entire CFC building to IIP for a lease of 30 years to start full-fledged
activities in testing, training, and certification in the field of packaging.
·The total area of the allocated plot is 6855
sq. m. with a built-up area of 6106 sq m.
