RECOGNITION OF IIP LABORATORIES |

- IIP is recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, as the premiere Scientific and Research Organisation in the field of packaging.

DGS / DGCA APPROVAL -
The Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Surface Transport and the Director General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation had authorized the Institute to undertake the testing of Bulk Packages for the carriage of dangerous goods for export by Sea or Air respectively and also to issue the UN Certificate. The Institute has been providing the services since 1989 to large number of packaging material manufacturer as well as exporters and thus promoting the export of chemicals from India.

- The Laboratories of the Institute at Mumbai is also accredited to National Accreditation Board for Testing and Caliberation Laboratories (NABL) according to ISO/IEC-17025. The accreditation is obtained for 102 tests covering mechanical, chemical and optical properties of various packaging materials like paper and paperboard, plastic and laminates, tin containers, plastic caps and closures, Plastic pressure sensitive adhesive tape, plastic and wooden pallet, plastic feeding bottle, plastic bottles and mineral bottles, blow moulded plastic containers with or without caps, HDPE woven sacks, Corrugated fibre board boxes etc.
- Recently the Laboratories of the Institute has also got audited for the recognition of Bureau of Indian Standards for 26 product specification covering paper and paper board, plastic films and laminates, Jute bags, HDPE woven sacks, Plastic bottle for mineral water, Plastic pouch for mineral water, corrugated fibre board boxes for explosives.

- ASIA PACIFIC LABORATORY ACCREDITATION CO-OPERATION (APLAC)
